Lisa Albert

Welcome to my cyberplace! A little bit about me, Lisa Albert, author of books for children, middle graders, and young adults.
I love being an author of books for children! I've been writing stories since I was seven. Really!
After many years of mud pies, skinned knees, sibling rivalry, crushes, boyfriends and heartbreaks, I got serious and penned my first novel when I was sixteen. I received my first rejection letter when I was eighteen. It was from Cosmopolitan Magazine. I still have it.
I write fiction and nonfiction. My young adult novel, Mercy Lily, debuted from Flux Books in October 2011. I’m currently shopping a super fun magical realism middle grade novel, writing another middle grade book, and outlining a few nonfiction projects.
I joined the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) in 1996 and sold my first article in 1998. I've been a contributing author to the Children's Writers and Illustrator's Market (CWIM) and have written three nonfiction books for Enslow Publishing. Lois Lowry: The Giver of Stories & Memories (2007) , So You Want to Be a Film or TV Actor? (2008), and Stephenie Meyer: Author of the Twilight Saga (2009).
